The American River College Football program advanced to 3-0 on the 2023 season after defeating Fresno City College 28-7 at Beaver Stadium.

The victory proved to be a true team effort as the Beavers were impressive both defensively and offensively.  Defensively the Beavers would hold Fresno City College to 239 total yards, 71 rushing yards, and forced 3 turnovers (2 interceptions and 1 fumble).  Josh Tremain lead the Beavers defensively with 8 total tackles and 1 interception.  Antonio Williams added 6 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble, while Slade Wilson had a critical interception in the redzone to deny Fresno City a potential scoring opportunity.

Offensively, Joshua Moore got the Beavers on the scoreboard first with a 5 yard run to cap off a 7 play 65 yard drive.  Fresno City would tie the game at 7-7 in the second quarter, however the Beavers would respond with a touchdown to close out the half after Kenneth Lueth threw a fade in the endzone to Mikaiah Stephenson to make the game 14-7.

The second half would see the Beavers shutout Fresno City defensively, while offensive the Beavers would add a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter after Kenneth Lueth connected with Mikaiah Stephenson on a 17 yard touchdown to make the game 21-7 and Kacie Riley scored on a 10 yard run to seal the game at 28-7.

The Beavers will continue non-conference play next week as they travel on the road to play undefeated College of San Mateo at 1 PM on Saturday, September 23rd.
