Football Closes Out Conference Play Undefeated for Second Straight Year

The American River College Football program closed NorCal Conference play undefeated for the second straight year after defeating Feather River College 53-6 on the road.

The Beavers utilized a strong first half to put Feather River away early.  Defensively the Beavers would hold Feather River to 98 total yards on 60 plays, including restricting Feather River to 24 passing yards and 84 rushing yards.  The Beavers would also force three turnovers (two fumbles and one interception).  Kaleb Larson led the Beavers defense with 9 total tackles, while Austin Adams, Jordan Wagner, Josh Tremain, Trevaun Robinson, Garrett Risley, and Luke Levengood had 5 total tackles each.

Offensively the Beavers would tally 451 yards of offense, including 277 yards on the ground and 174 yards through the air.  The Beavers would get the scoring spree started when running back Kacie Riley ran for a 52 yard touchdown, givin the Beavers a 7-0 lead.  Kicker Logan McCreery would follow the touchdown up with a 36 yard field goal, expanding the lead to 10-0.

In the second quarter, quarterback Kenneth Lueth would find receiver Mikaiah Stephenson for the 33 yard touchdown pass.  With a 17-0 lead, Kenneth Lueth would strike again when he connected with tight end Seth Bozzi for the 7 yard score.  Logan McCreery would score on a 2 point conversion to give the Beavers a 25-0 lead, but the Beavers were not done scoring in this quarter.  Running back Joshua Moore would run for a 5 yard touchdown and Kenneth Lueth with connect with Omari Baker on a 3 yard pass to give the Beavers a 39-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, the Beavers would see quarterback Quincy Gallon cap off a 4 play 36 yard drive with with a 5 yard touchdown pass to tight end Zoltan Holmly.  Running back Aurelio Filippini would add a 5 yard touchdown pass in the 4th quarter to give the Beavers a 53-0 lead.  Feather River would score in the final minutes of the game to make the final score 53-6.

With the victory, the Beavers have officially closed out the regular season and will prepare to see who they will host in the 3C2A playoffs on Saturday, November 25th.  Whether the Beavers will receive a #1 or #2 seeding for the playoffs will be determined this week after final strength of schedule numbers are finalized by the Northern California Football Conference (NCFC).
