Men's Soccer Begins Postseason with #10 Seed in Regional Tournament

Men’s Soccer Enters Postseason as #10 Seed in Northern California Tournament

 

The Beavers men’s soccer team currently sits at 11-6-3 on the season and 4-4-2 in the loaded Big 8 Conference. After finishing regular season play with a tie versus Santa Rosa, the Beavers will look forward to the postseason where they will be on a short list of teams that have a chance to make the state championships, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College on December 3rd and 5th. The Beavers were selected for the Regional Tournament and given the #10 seed. They will play at #7 Feather River in the opening round of the single elimnation tournmen. So far this season, Roberto Carlos Plasencia has been a scoring machine, and leads the Beavers in goals (8) and points (19). Playmaker Kyle Prusia leads the team with 5 assists and is second on the team in overall points (15). Goalkeeper play has been another strength for the Beavers with Gerardo Perez-Plata holding a 1.27 GAA and 3 shutouts. ARC holds an overall 2.05 to 1.32 goal average, showing the dominance the team has displayed this season by outscoring opponents by over .7 goals per game on average. The Beavers will look to continue their high level of play in the postseason and make a run toward Mt San Antonio College in December.
