The Vikings from Diablo Valley College came to Sacramento looking for the upset, but the American River College Beavers held off the tough squad from Diablo Valley for a very competitive 6-3 victory. The Beavers swept the doubles. The highlight for ARC was a dominant 8-2 win at #2 doubles for Nic Atkinson and John Foote. In the singles Seppi Capaul dominated Roy Eldred at #2, 6-0, 6-0, and TJ Aukland (#4) and John Foote (#5) nearly matched his result, each losing only 2 games. In the closest match of the day, Jimmy Giovannini (ARC) and Austin Miller (DVC) played one of the closest and most competitive matches of the year at #1 singles. Miller won the match 7-6(5), 6-7(4), 11-9. It was a great day on the ARC courts and the Beavers look forward to playing the Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs on Tuesday, March 17th.
