The Beavers started off conference play with a 9-0 shutout over the Shasta Knights. Highlights included Elias Burbick, Nick Shirk, and AJ De Castro competing in their first official matches for American River. In the singles, Burbick (#2) and Shirk (#4) each won their matches 6-2, 6-1. In the doubles, De Castro and Shirk teamed up for an 8-2 victory at #2. ARC will next play Cabrillo College on Friday, February 20 as part of a road trip to the bay area to compete against some tough Coast Conference competition. They will also play De Anza College during the trip on Saturday, February 21.
