In the year-end state individual championships, the Beavers performed admirably. In the singles Seppi Capaul and Jimmy Giovannini each reached the 3rd round before falling to opponents from SoCal #2 team, College of the Desert. In the doubles all 3 ARC teams reached at least the 3rd round. Nic Atkinson/Ryan Wilson won a well-played match 6-4, 6-3 against a solid Bakersfield team in the 2nd round before falling to a Grossmont seeded team in their next match. John Foote was forced to pull out of the doubles due to an injury, so Dylan King stepped in to pair up with TJ Aukland. Aukland/King played well in route to the 3rd round where they faced off against the #2 team from Cerritos College. The match was hard fought and well played in the first set, as both teams fought off multiple set points. Eventually the Cerritos team pulled it out and the ARC team was forced to retire when Aukland aggravated a pre-existing injury early in the 2nd set. The ARC #1 team of Capaul/Giovannini cruised in to the round of 16 where they met the #1 team from College of the Desert. Unlike in their singles matches against the COD players, the ARC duo controlled the flow of play. They played aggressive, attacking doubles, forcing their opponents in to defensive court positions. ARC finished the match strong, winning the 10-point match tiebreak 10-8, and moved on to the quarterfinal, matching the best result by an ARC doubles team since 1992. In the quarterfinal matchup ARC fell just short to a strong Irvine Valley College team, 6-3, 7-6(4). It was a great run for the ARC pairing and capped a tremendous season for ARC Men's Tennis.
