In a matchup of the top 2 teams in Northern California, the Beavers lost a hard fought battle to the Owls from Foothill College. The tone of the match was set early in the doubles, as each match was closely contested. The Beavers were able to pull out victories at #1 (Seppi Capaul/Jimmy Giovannini) and at #3 (John Foote/Ryan Wilson), but were unable to complete the sweep when #2 doubles (Nic Atkinson/TJ Aukland) were broken at 7-7 and then the Owls held for a 9-7 victory. In the singles Capaul (#1) and Dylan King (#5) won their matches in straight sets, but no other Beaver player was able to win a set, as the Beavers lost their first dual-team match of the season 5-4 to the mid-season #1 team in the North. The Beavers will next play conference rival Diablo Valley College on March 13th.
