It was an all-ARC affair on the men's side of the ITA Regional Tournament hosted by American River College at Gold River Sports Club. In the quarterfinals, 5^th seeded Micah Erwin defeated the lone non-Beaver player left in the draw when he upset 4^th seeded Rajan Bhatia from Solano, by the score of 3-6, 6-3, 2-0 ret. In the semifinals Younes Kodiji defeated Erwin in the top half of the draw and Robin Sharma beat Beaver freshman Jack Hall 6-4, 6-4 to earn his berth in to the final. Kodiji and Sharma had an extremely competitive and physical match with several momentum changes. Sharma came back from an early break down in the first set to win 6 of 7 games and win the first set 6-3. Kodiji took control of the patterns in the second set, and won it convincingly by the score of 6-2. In the final set the players traded early breaks and were at 3-3 before Sharma held for a 4-3 lead and then broke to go up 5-3. In the final game of the match Kodiji fought off 3 match points, but Sharma converted on the 4^th match point to take the match 6-3 in the third set.

In the doubles final, Sharma teamed up with Stephen Guenard to take on Hall and his partner Gabe Kinder. The top-seeded Guenard/Sharma got down early to the Beaver freshmen duo, and Hall/Kinder didn't look back, closing the match out by the score of 6-2, 6-4 with some stellar doubles action.

The regional champions earned the opportunity to compete at the National ITA championships in Rome, Georgia on October 17-20. Sharma is unable to attend so Kodiji will replace him as the NorCal singles representative. Hall and Kinder will take on the best community college teams in the country as the doubles representatives for Northern California. It should be an incredible experience and an invaluable opportunity to face the best competition in the country for the Beaver qualifiers.
