The Beavers finished their team season with a loss in the state championship match to the College of the Desert Roadrunners. It was the 4th time in 5 years that the Beavers had won the NorCal regional championship, and on each occasion they have been beaten by the SoCal champion. ARC came out of the gates firing, going toe to toe with the heavily favored Roadrunners at #1 and #2 doubles. However, in each match the Beavers' level dropped slightly at the end, resulting in 8-5 losses at each position. The singles action was also hard-fought, but again, ARC fell just short in each match. Parker Perdue (#6) and Micah Erwin (#2) had the closest matches, but every Beaver player left everything they had on the court. "We played very well today." Explained coach Bo Jabery Madison, "I couldn't have asked for a better effort from our guys. It was probably the best we have competed in a match this season, but we just ran up against the best community college team I have seen in my time as coach (since 2005). Our group of guys has been tremendous this season. There is not a team in the entire country I’d rather be coaching, win or lose.” The Beavers will next compete in the NorCal individual regionals at West Valley College on April 29th.
