ARC Men’s Tennis traveled to Fresno to play Fresno Pacific University (NCAA DII) and two community college teams, Fresno City and Reedley. ARC fell short in a very competitive match against FPU by the score of 5-2. The wins for ARC came from Ravi Nelson, in a very strong performance, at #2 singles and DJ Sobrepena at #6 singles. Nelson won the first 11 games before Josh Wong (FPU) was able to break and hold to sneak out two games before Nelson closed it out 6-0, 6-2. Sobrepena also took the first set routinely, but things got tight in the second set, with Sobrepena closing it out in a tiebreak for the 6-2, 7-6(4) victory. Zac Prince (#3) also had a great match, narrowly falling to Martin Ramirez (FPU) 3-6, 7-6(10), 10-4. The Beavers were short-handed for the match, losing one of their top players, Robin Sharma, to a foot injury before the match.

Against the community college competition, ARC pushed their winning streak to 13 against community college teams, which dates back to pre-COVID in 2020. Playing Fresno City first, and then Reedley, both matches were 9-0 victories for the Beavers, without a single player dropping more than a single game in any single set of the 18 overall individual matches.

ARC will play their first conference competition against Folsom Lake College at home on Tuesday, February 22
