Beavers Dominate at the MJC Invitational

ARC Men's tennis won the annual MJC Invitational for the 5th time in the last 6 years the event has been played. The tournament is unique, in that it is flighted, meaning each player competes in a separate draw consisting of players at the same position from their respective teams. The Beavers won 7 of the 9 flights and reached the finals in the other 2, earning 30 out of a possible 32 points. Foothill College finished in second place with 20.5 points. Beaver standout players included Ravi Nelson (Flight 1), Shane Timmons (Flight 4), Spencer Hill (Flight 5), and Julian Bilbao (Flight 6), each of whom won their flight without dropping a set. In the doubles the Beavers swept all 3 flights. Hill/Nelson led the way in Flight 1, with Jack Hall/Lenny Lin winning Flight 2, and Jason Hom/Timmons winning Flight 3. ARC did not drop a set in the doubles. The Beavers look forward to competing against William Jessup University at home on Wednesday, February 15th .
