Men's Beaver XC Win Their 43rd Big 8 Cross Country Championship!

The American River College men’s cross country team won it’s 43 conference championship on Friday on the ARC Campus Course – and 14 of the last 15. The Beavers score of 25 points easily beat 2nd place San Joaquin Delta College’s 65 points. Modesto was 3rd with 75 and Santa Rosa was 4th with 77. Leading the way for ARC was Ethan Dodge (Whitney HS) in 2nd place overall, covering the 4 miles in 20:15. He was followed closely by Lucas Reeves, 3rd (Woodcreek HS) in 20:16 and Gulab Singh, 4th (Will C Wood HS) in 20:19. Billy Groth (Colfax HS) continued his amazing improvement and captured the 4th scoring place for ARC, 7th overall in 20:27. Cristian Martinez (Liberty Ranch HS) rounded out the top 5 taking 9th in 20:42. The top 14 overall finishers makeup the Big 8 All-Conference team – the following ARC runners also gained a spot on the All-Conference team:

10th  - Jason Finta, Whitney HS, 20:43

11th – Byron Chadwick, Whitney HS, 20:47

12th – Colin Wong, Oakmont HS, 20:50

13th – Koby Sperandeo, Granite Bay HS, 20:55

 

This Friday, November 5th, the Beavers make a short trip to Sierra College for the NorCal Championships at 10am for the women and 11am for the men.
