Beavers Win Chabot Twilight Meet

Hayward - The Beavers traveled to Hayward to compete at the Chabot Twilight Invite. The event is a unique event for the cross country season as instead of racing on a cross country course, the race is a 5k on the track. This event lets the runners mix it up and see what kind of time they can run for the popular track event during the cross country season. Cristian Martinez again led the Beavers and got the overall win in an impressive time of 14:34. While it wont count for record purposes since it is not during the track season, the time would place him 4th all time in school history! Following him was Lucas Reeves (7th, 15:02), Byron Chadwick (9th, 15:12), Anthony Page (11th, 15:21), and Gavin Vance (14th, 15:25). Billy Groth (15th, 15:33) and Pedro Tirado (16th, 15:36) rounded out the top 7 for the Beavers.

Even though it was a track race, cross country scoring was still used for team scores. ARC beat Hartnell 37-39 in another close race between the 2 favorites to win the mens team title at the NorCal Championships in November. All in all, 9 ARC runners ran their 5k personal best times at the meet.
