4 New School Records and Big 8 Swimmer & Diver of the Year; Women’s Swim & Dive Finish 4th at Big 8 Championships

The ARC Women's Swim & Dive had an exciting week of competition and best times.  The team won 6 individual events, both 1 & 3M Diving, won by sophomore Rachel Choi, the Women's 200 Free won by freshman Audrey Ng, the 200 IM, 100 Back and 200 Back won by freshman Mia Verwoest.  Every swimmer qualified for finals this weekend and had at least one personal best if not all personal best times!

Mia Verwoest, finished this weekend with a perfect 60/60 points at the Big 8 Championships where she was awarded "Big 8 Swimmer of the Year", in addition she set 2 new school records- the women's 50 Back / 100 Back.  She is entered into the State Swim Championships 2024 as top 8 in all of her 3 individual events.  The Big 8 Conference for Women's Swim is considered the most competitive of all conferences and to be swimmer of the year as a freshman is a unique honor.

Rachel Choi- Women's Diving

Rachel earned "Big 8 Diver of the Year".  Rachel set the new school record for both the Women's 1 & 3 M boards.  Rachel has been a fabulous addition to the women's swim & dive team as she has brought a happy, mature and focused approach to practice.  She is consistent and true to herself.  She is a confident competitor and a class act to all she encounters.  She has been a joy for everyone and is a great example of a job well done!

All of our sophomores were honored at the Big 8 Meet, pictured below in their red team shirts!  Captains Bailey McCue and Tavia Verwoest, Anna Novorak, Emmy Meyers & Rachel Choi.  Congrats Sophomores!!
