STOCKTON – The Las Positas College men's water polo team continues to heat up as the season progresses. Over the weekend at the San Joaquin Delta College William Anttila Tournament, the Hawks put together another successful weekend by going 3-1.
Las Positas has won six of its last eight games after compiling a 3-1 record last week at West Valley College's Nyquist Invitational.
LPC opened play in Stockton on Friday with a 17-5 win over American River College and followed that up with a 12-9 victory against Merced College.
Diablo Valley College handed LPC their lone loss of the weekend on Saturday morning, beating the Hawks 14-8. But Las Positas bounced back by defeating Cabrillo College 15-6 to wrap up the weekend's action.
Sophomore Ross Brown had a productive weekend for the Hawks. He led LPC in scoring with four goals in the win over American River and added four more in the loss to Diablo Valley.
Las Positas, now 7-6 overall, returns to action on Wednesday (Sep. 21) at 3:15 pm when the Hawks host Diablo Valley in a non-conference game.
