The FLC baseball team traveled to American River to open their weekend 2-game series on Friday afternoon and came home with their first win of this abbreviated season, 9-8. The Falcon bullpen turned in a heroic effort in the win, shutting out the Beavers over the final four innings on just one hit. With the Falcons clinging to a 1-run lead, Hayden Nabers (1 inning), Diego Maldonado (2 innings), and Tim Ryhan (1 inning) combined for 7 strikeouts to preserve the narrow victory. Offensively, the Falcons were led by sophomore shortstop Isaiah Lissade, who drove in 5 runs with a single, a triple, and an RBI groundout. Sophomores Trey Furrey and Troy Shields also collected two hits apiece in the win.
