Three members of the 2017 American River College baseball team earned all-conference honors, it was announced on Wednesday.

Sophomore 1B Alex Dodd (River City) was named a 2nd team All-BIG 8 Conference first baseman, after finishing 2nd on the team in home runs and RBI for the season and 3rd in batting average.  Dodd was a SS in high school and started the season as the Beavers DH but moved to 1B when sophomore Tyler Swank (Del Campo) went down with an injury.

Freshman OF Justin Hanlin (Whitney) was also named to the 2nd team All-BIG 8 Conference team after leading the Beavers in home runs and tied for 2nd in doubles.  His four home runs are the most for an American River College player since Kody Curtis hit four in 2009.  Three of his home runs and 15 f his 20 home runs came in conference play.

Freshman Sonny Ledford (Rio Americano) also was named to the BIG 8 Conference 2nd team as the Beavers 3B led the team in RBI with 31.  He also led the team in doubles with 10.  Ledford's 31 RBI were the most for an A.R.C. player since 2013 when Andrew Lojewski earned All-American honors for driving in 33 runs.

Sophomore RHP Micah Gunter (Valley Christian) earned the BIG 8 Conference's nomination for the Gold Glove Award for Pitchers.  Gunter did not commit an error during the season and made some very good plays which earned him the nomination.  Gunter was a SS in high school and played some in the outfield in 2016 for the Beavers.

Congratulations to the 2017 All-Conference honorees.
