Big Day for Tatum Not Enough for Beavers

Sophomore 1B Willie Tatum III (Grant) had a big four-hit day on Saturday, coming up just a home run short of the cycle but the Beavers offense just couldn't push the runs across and the team fell 8-4 to the Folsom Lake Falcons. On a busy day at the ARC Tatum's four hits led the Beavers and Dominic Ott (Woodcreek) added three hits of his own. The game was tied 4-4 in the 8th but the Falcons blew it open with a pinch-hit bases loaded double in the top of the 8th to go up 7-4. They later added another run to make the score 8-4. The Beavers had their chances as they stranded 12 runners on bases, including leaving the bases loaded in the 6th inning. The Beavers led 3-2 after three innings but Folsom Lake took the lead in the 4th with a pair of runs. The Beavers tied it in the 5th on a single by Tatum.
The Beavers now turn their sights to rivalry week as they take on the cross-town rival Sacramento City College Panthers. Games one and three, Tuesday and Friday will be at home at 2:30 while Thursday will be on the campus of Sacramento City College.
