ARC BIDS FAREWELL TO SOPHOMORES

ARC BIDS FAREWELL TO SOPHOMORES

It was the last game for the sophomores at ARC on Friday and unfortunately it did not go as planned, but it did go similarly to many of the games this season.  The Beavers trailed 3-1 entering the 7th inning but gave up 3 runs in the 7th, all with two outs to put Santa Rosa up 6-1.  Santa Rosa scored 7 runs in the 9th inning, all after there were 2 outs and nobody on, thanks to 3 hit batters, 3 walks, 2 singles and an error.  That put the game away and gave Santa Rosa the 13-1 win.  Sophomore Brett Griffiths (Jesuit) had a pair of hits and the only RBI of the day to bring his season total to 62 hits, the most by an ARC player since RJ Gundolff (Oak Ridge) had 64 in 2007.  Gundolff was named an All-American that season.  Marcus Babauta (St. Mary's) also had a pair of hits as did DH Jake Morell (Whitney).  1B Willie Tatum (Grant) had a double and scored the only run.  Sophomore RHP Tyler Moore (Del Campo) was effective through 6 innings, allowing just 4 hits through the first 6 innings but he tired quickly, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits in the 7th with the big blow being a two-out, two-run triple to right center field.

A.R.C. would like to thank all of the sophomores for their hard work, efforts and contributions to the program over the past couple of years.
