ROUGH WEEK FOR THE BEAVERS

2025 started off hot for the 2025 version of American River College baseball but this past week was much cooler. The Beavers dropped games on Monday and Tuesday to Golden Valley Conference opponents Feather River College and Lassen College respectively. Both games were make-ups from previous rain-outs. The Beavers fell to Feather River 10-8 on Monday and then 7-4 on Tuesday to Lassen. The Beavers had a 4-3 lead in the 7th inning of that contest. After this weeks rainstorm threw a wrench into the schedule ARC traveled to Oroville to face Butte College on Saturday in a doubleheader. To say the Beavers bats were cold would be an understatement. After being one of the top hitting teams and run scoring teams in the state through the first 8 games, the Beavers managed just one run in 18 innings of play against the Roadrunners. Game 1 saw ARC lose 5-1, as freshman 3B Jackson Nichols (Valley Christian) drove in the only run of the day in the top of the first inning. Game two was even worse for the Beavers offense as they managed just two hits and were shut out for the first time this season. Freshman 1B Lance Sabatke (River City) led the Beavers on the day with a pair of doubles.
The Beavers will try to regroup as they face Yuba College in the upcoming week. Game 1 is Tuesday at Beaver Field at 2:00 pm. Game 2 will be at Yuba College on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. and the finale will be on Friday at Beaver Field at 2:00 pm.
