BEAVERS DROP FINALE TO DELTA, BEAT SOLANO IN NON-CONFERENCE GAME

American River College couldn't quite get back the runs that they gave up on Friday as the fell to Delta College in game 3 of the series 15-10.  The Beavers bats did come alive as they scored 5 runs in the 4th and 6th innings but a couple of base running blunders cost them a chance to score more.  The Beavers pitching just couldn't contain the big bats of the Mustangs who lead the state in home runs with 28.  At the plate freshman SS Bryce Sabatke (River City) had a three run double and sophomore RF Jonas Dyas (Folsom) had a career high four hits and a pair of RBI.

Saturday marked the return of the ARC/Solano challenge with the runner up receiving the coveted ARC/Solano trophy.  The Falcons got to keep the award again as the Beavers scored early and often, plating 3 runs in the first and second innings and two runs in the third to go up 8-0.  Sophomore 2B Jayden Reynolds (Bella Vista) had an RBI triple in the first inning and freshman CF Talen Hollowell (Kennedy) and freshman SS Ramon Esparza (Roseville) contributing RBI singles in the 2nd.  The day however belonged to freshman P/DH Dylan Westbrook (Oak Ridge) who started on the mound and at the plate was 3x4 with an RBI triple, a three run HR and a total of 6 RBI on the day.  His three run home run came in the top of the 6th after Solano had tied the score with an 8 run 4th inning.

The Beavers return to BIG 8 Conference play on Tuesday at Sierra College, followed by a home game on Thursday and back to Sierra on Friday.
