BEAVERS DROP GAME ONE OF SERIES TO COSUMNES RIVER

While ARC may have gotten out to a good start by scoring in the first inning against Cosumnes River College on Tuesday, it paled in comparison to CRC's first inning.  The Hawks jumped all over starter Jackson Nichols (Valley Christian) for 7 runs in the first inning on 7 hits, one of which was a 3 run home run.  The Hawks added 3 more runs in the third inning after CF Dylan Westbrook (Oak Ridge) lost a fly ball in the sun with two outs to let a run score, then followed that up with a two run home run to left to make the score 10-1.  Freshman RHP Nathan Gahn (Bear Creek) held CRC in check for the next couple of innings.  In the top of the 6th the Beavers closed the gap on a three-run home run over the scoreboard in left-center field by Kaedin Bulock (Yuba City) to make the score 10-4.  It was Bulock's second home run of the season.  CRC did get one of the runs back in the bottom of the 6th off of Gahn to make the score 11-4.  CRC increased their lead to 13-4 in the 7th off of RHP Donny Supat (Yuba City) and some shaky defense in the bottom of the 8th inning allowed the Hawks to score four more runs.  Sophomore David Henry (El Camino) hit his first collegiate home run in the top of the 8th inning, also over the scoreboard.  The Beavers added another run in the top of the 9th.

The two teams will meet again on Thursday at Beaver Field at 2:00 pm.
