    Assistant Coach

Bio

Tim Fitzgerald returns for his fourth season as a member of the coaching staff after graduating from U.C. Riverside in 2010.  He started his coaching career in 2011 as an assistant coach at perennial powerhouse Jesuit High School.  In 2012 he took over as the outfield coach for the Beavers.  This year he will coach the catchers, which was the position that he played while a player at A.R.C.  Tim has also worked the Sacramento State Baseball camps for the past couple of summers and spent this past summer as the manager for one of former big leaguer Matt Walbeck’s travel ball teams. “Fitz” was a fierce competitor as a player and a very solid hitter while he played at A.R.C.  He was a solid defensive catcher who could really block balls in the dirt and handle a pitching staff.  His work ethic as a player earned him respect from the coaches and his teammates.  Fitz has really helped the Beavers with academic support, tutoring several players on the side to help them be able to transfer to four-year schools.  He will be relied upon to handle many of the recruiting duties for the Beavers as well as to coach first base.  He is currently finishing his master’s degree in Kinesiology from Sac State.  Tim lives in Rancho Murrieta.
