Overall: 0-1         Conference: 0-0

ARC men's tennis opened their home match season by hosting NCAA DI competitor, the Sacramento State Hornets. The Beavers competed well in the doubles, losing by a single break of serve at #1 and #2. In the singles, every match from the number two position to the number five position went down to the wire in the second set, proving ARC is physically and mentally tough enough to compete at the highest level of collegiate tennis. The closest matches were at #2 (Enrique Silveira) and #3 (Arjun Sivakumar) who lost nail-biter second sets, each by the score of 6-4. " These are the type of matches we need in the beginning of the year. If we are able to be competitive with four-year, NCAA DI opponents at this point in the season, it will help to prepare us for any team we face down the road at the community college level." Explained coach Bo Jabery Madison. The Beavers will next compete in the Modesto Junior College Invitational from February 14-15. They have won the event, which hosts all of the top NorCal teams, six of the last eight years it has been held.
