American River Softball took the lead late in the game in a 5-2 victory over Folsom Lake on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with American River batting in the bottom of the 5th when Sam Anderson doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Cassie Ralston was the winning pitcher for American River. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five. Kirsten Cox went 2-4 at the plate to lead American River in hits. American River played solid defense behind Ralston with a diving catch by Rachel Harvell in right-field and Ciera Pyle at short-stop.
