HOME OF THE AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS

Beavers blanked in Fremont

Beavers banked in Fremont

The 2019 schedule had to be altered again to beat the rain as the American River College baseball team traveled to #9 ranked Ohlone College in Fremont on Monday instead of Tuesday.  The change in plans did not help the Beavers as they were shut out for the 2nd time this season, falling 10-0.  The Beavers had runners on base in seven of the nine innings but by hitting into three double plays and having a runner caught stealing were only able to get one runner to third base on the day.  Freshman CF Ian McIsaac (Davis) had his first two hit game of the season and sophomore 3B Lane Field (Whitney) added a double as the Beavers tallied 6 hits and walked 4 times, as well as having a hit by pitch.  Sophomore RHP Nick Perry (Rio Linda) started the game on the mound and gave up four in the first after retiring two of the first three batters he hit a batter then gave up a 2 run double followed by a two run homer just inside the foul pole in left.

The two teams are scheduled to play at Beaver Field on Thursday but as has been the case much of this season, could be moved due to weather.
