HOME OF THE AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS

Beavers lose 5-0 to Ohlone

Beavers lose 5-0 to Ohlone

In the final non-conference game of the year for American River College the Beavers were shut out at home, losing to Ohlone College 5-0.  The Beavers were held scoreless in both games against Ohlone this year.  A.R.C. once again hit into three double plays which killed any potential rallies the offense could muster.  The Beavers drew five walks on the day, three of them by sophomore 1B Steven Langley (El Camino) but only got two hits, one by Langley and one by freshman 2B Garrett Glynn (Del Oro) in the first inning.  Ohlone got all of their runs in the 2nd inning as A.R.C. had another "melt-down" inning.  Ohlone did get three hits in the inning but A.R.C. made three errors and sophomore RHP Hayden Josephson (Granite Bay) hit three batters in the inning.  Josephson settled down after that striking out six in his final three innings of work.  Sophomore RHP Collin Carriger (Bella Vista. pictured) came on in relief and struck out five in three innings of work, allowing just two hits.

A.R.C. will return to BIG 8 Conference play next week as they play host to cross-town rival Sac City on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
