Coming off of a close 4-2 loss on Saturday at Modesto the American River College baseball team once again played a close game but came up short to Cosumnes River College 7-5 at Beaver Field on Tuesday.  Sophomores Ray Henry (Colfax) and Steven Langley (El Camino) had three hits apiece and freshman 2B Dillen Farrell (Antelope, pictured) drove in a pair of runs but it just wasn't enough for the Beavers.  The Beavers fell behind early, giving up runs in the first two innings as freshman RHP Aiden Taylor (Rio Americano) allowed just five hits over six innings, but walked four, with three of those runs scoring.  The Beavers scored one in the 2^nd on a Dillen Farrell sacrifice fly which scored CF Andrew Danko (EagleCrest, CO).  A.R.C. tied the game in the 3^rd as freshman RF Cole Hurtarte (Whitney) drew a leadoff walk and eventually scored on a wild pitch, one of two wild pitches he would score on on the day.  CRC regained the lead in the 4^th but the Beavers came back in the 5^th and scored twice to take the lead 4-3.  It was short-lived however as Cosumnes came back and scored twice in the 6^th off of Taylor to take the lead 5-4.  It remained that way until the 8^th when the Beavers tied it back up as Farrell lined a single up the middle to score freshman DH Ian McIsaac (Davis) who had singled to lead off the inning.  With the score tied 5-5 in the 9^th Cosumnes got a leadoff bunt single off of sophomore lefty Ryan Marcoccia (Del Campo).  After a fly out another single put runners at 1^stand 2^nd.  Cosumnes pitcher Joey Pankratz then laced a triple to center to clear the bases and give CRC a 7-5 lead.  The Beavers did get a pair of runners on in the 9^th but McIsaac grounded out to short to end the game. 

The two teams will meet on Thursday at Jerry Conway Field at CRC before coming back to Beaver Field on Friday at 2:30 to wrap up the 2019 season.
