Beavers excel in the classroom

Once again a lot of hard work in the classroom paid off as the American River College Baseball team posted a near program record 2.94 team gpa in the Spring semester.  15 of the 28 players tallied a 3.0 or better.  For the second straight year the team fell just short of its goal of a 3.0 team grade point average.  The Beavers had a 2.96 in 2018.  Five of the players had a 3.6 or higher.

"I am really proud of the guys in how hard they worked off the field.  It was a tough year on the field with the injuries that we had, but the work in the classroom will pay off for a long time for these guys," said Head Coach Doug Jumelet.  "I really want to thank our outstanding staff in the Dusty Baker Center and in the Learning Resource Center for giving us the time and tools that the guys needed to work on their grades.  It takes a village as they say and we really do have the people here who care."
