The Beavers bats were alive on Friday as they out-hit Feather River College 11-3 but tremendous defense on both sides kept the score low and the Golden Eagles were able to sneak out a 2-1 win.  RHP Aiden Taylor (Rio Americano, pictured) threw 7 innings allowing just one unearned run but got a no-decision.  Taylor had 3-up, 3-down innings in the 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th, and 6^th innings.  He allowed two hits in the 2^nd inning but worked out of a bases loaded, no out jam.  Feather River got an unearned run off of him in the 7^th as a pair of errors allowed Feather River to tie the score at one.  The Beavers had taken the lead in the bottom of the 6^th when sophomore 2B Addison Lueras (Ponderosa) singled to right with sophomore C Paul Von Zboray (Ponderosa) on 2^nd.  A perfect throw to the plate was going to get Von Zboray but a good, hard slide knocked the ball loose to put the Beavers on the board first.  The score remained tied at 1-1 until the 9^th when a leadoff error by freshman RHP Christian Lucero (River City) allowed the batter to reach.  After a sacrifice bunt, a groundout and an intentional walk, Lucero induced a slow grounder to 2^nd but Lueras misplayed it allowing the go-ahead run to score. 

The Beavers finish the week with a road trip to Redding to face Shasta College for the second time this week at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
