Beavers Down Lassen at Home 11-9
BEAVERS DOWN LASSEN 11-9 AT HOME
American River College jumped out to a big lead early and held on to defeat the Lassen College Cougars 11-9 at home on Thursday. Sophomore RF Josiah Taylor (Alpha Charter) got the ball rolling with a leadoff triple and scored right after on a single by sophomore 3B Blake Yuyama (Kennedy). The first 7 Beavers reached base as they scored 5 in the first. ARC added a run in the 2nd inning then put up another 4 in the 3rd inning, with two of the runs coming on a triple by LF Dominic Ott (Woodcreek). The Beavers controlled much of the game with the exception of the 5th inning when an early error ended up allowing the Cougars to score 7 times bringing the score to 10-9. ARC would tack on another run in the 7th and sophomore RHP Christian Lucero (River City) threw the final two innings, retiring all 6 batters that he faced.
The Beavers go on the road to face Hartnell College in Salinas on Friday and Saturday.
