Parker Haven signs to play with Menlo College Basketball

Parker Haven, a 6'6" Forward from Folsom, California, earned a full-ride athletic scholarship to play basketball at Menlo College, and NAIA Division-I school, located just outside of Palo Alto, California. Haven, a captain for the Beavers Men's Basketball team, capped a decorated career at American River College by averaging 16 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2 blocks per game and lead the his team to the 2nd round of CCCAA playoffs his Sopmore campaign. Parker also earned All-Big 8 honors both Freshman and Sophmore seasons.

Parker, with a 34-inch vertical leap, provided many highlight dunks over his two-years at ARC. He was known for his ability to rebound and finish strong around the rim. "Parker was one of the most competitive players I have ever coached." said Head Coach Mark Giorgi. "He is extremely athletic and out worked most guys on the floor, that's what makes him a special player and will drive his success at the next level." added Giorgi.

When asked what he will remember most about ARC, Parker replied "I will miss the group of guys I played with. We had our ups and downs but we cared about each other on and off the court and loved to compete. Also, I will miss the coaching staff and how they challenged us throughout the years to become better players and better men.".

In addition to his athletic accolades, Haven also earned Scholar-Athlete awards during two of his four semesters, graduating with a 3.35 GPA while earning his Associates degree in Business Administration. Parker will complete his Bachelors and pursue his Masters degree in Business at Menlo College. He hopes to have a professional career playing basketball before joining the workforce. Parker joins a talented Menlo squad and will compete in the ever-tough Golden State Athletic Conference..
