Men's Cross Country Impressive at Fresno Invitational State Meet

The American River College Men's Cross Country progam open the 2023 season with an impressive showing at the Fresno Invitational State Cross Country Meet over the weekend.  The Beavers came away with a 4th place team finish, the top finishing NorCal team, and only 22 points away from 2nd place.  The course is the same as the one that will be used for the state meet in November and the race consisted of most of the NorCal schools and most of the top SoCal schools.

The Beavers were led by freshman, Mateo Delgadillo, who was 3rd overall in the 4 mile race in 20:38.  His time is the 2nd fastest ever for ARC at this invite and the fastest ever freshman time for ARC at the invite.  He was followed by freshman, Jaden Trujillo, in 19th with a time of 21:36 in his first 4 mile race ever.  Next up was sophomore, Roman Walton, in 29th place with a time of 21:58.  Rounding out the scoring members were sophomore Ethan Vahle in 39th place with a time of 22:15 and sophomore Nate Diaz in 45th place with a time of 22:29.  Freshman Joey Johnson was right behind in 48th place with a time of 22:31.  Freshman Will McCoy was ARC's final runner in 94th place with a time of 23:57.

The ARC Men's Cross Country team is looking great to start the season with a lot of them racing 4 miles for the first time.  The Beavers will be back in action on Friday, September 15th, as they host the Beaver Bash at the Sunset Whitney Recreation Area in Rocklin, California.
