ARC Women’s Team Sets 2 New School Records at State Meet and 2024 CCCAA Diver of the Year
The women's team had a fantastic state meet with all personal best, 2 new school records and Rachel Choi, perfect on both boards. Rachel lead off the meet with a win on 1M supported by team mate Aubrey Watts with a 3rd place finish. The following day the duo finished 1st & 2nd on 3M, earning Rachel Choi, California Community College Diver of the Year, and Coach Dede Crayne CCCAA Diving Coach of the Year!
Mia Verwoest then followed up with her own great successes, moving up in scoring in every swim with personal best swims. Mia finished 5th in the women's 200IM in 2:13.10. Mia hen set a new 100 Backstroke school record and finished 2nd with a time of 57.25, and the following day setting a new school record in the 200 back finishing 4th in a time of 2:07.29.
Audrey Ng supported the efforts of her team mates with 3 individual swims in the 500 Free finishing 10th with a time of 5:19.28, 12th in the 200 Free in a time of 2:00.76 and 9th in the 200 Back in 2:13.99. Audrey accomplished all of this with a severe hamstring strain, never complained and gave everything she could to each race.
The 4 women representing ARC at the State Championships did an exceptional job of representing their team with outstanding effort and class, finishing 11th out of 77 teams!
