Sophomore Erika Nordman broke the American River College's twenty-year-old women's Track & Field Hammer Record.  The previous record was held by Shannon Cox, of 49.17 meters, in 1999.

Nordman hit 49.38 meters, at the Hornet Invitational, contested at Sacramento State University on March 15, 2019.

"Erika's timing was much better on the throw, she has come a long way with still so much more potential", said her coach Alex Knudsen.
