First Annual Beaver Bash a Success

First Annual Beaver Bash a Success

Freshman Alanna Laverty won the first Beaver Bash cross country meet with a time of 21:18, thirty seconds ahead of second place Butte runner.  Freshman Jayde King and Sophomore Mary Nolan worked together to finish  8th and 9th .  This was the inaugural race hosted by ARC at Sunset Whitney Recreation Area.  This former golf course has been transformed to include a true cross-country course with dirt trails and some sandy sections.  The first test of the race was at 1000m with a 400m climb, followed by a gradual hill at 1 mile.  Most runners said they look forward to racing there again next year!

The Lady Beavers will be returning to competition this Friday, September 22 for the George Brooks Invitational in Martinez.  This course will be a preview for the NorCal Championships on November 3.
