The top ranked ARC men's team entered the meet with high hopes of attaining a third straight state title in men's cross country at Woodward Park Saturday. The gun sounded and off they went. About a hundred meters into the race there was a massive pileup and down went undefeated ARC sophomore sensation Will Reyes and sophomore Luis Luna, as well as Chris Kigar, Jacob Huston, Sean Jagerson and Patrick Jagerson.

The American River College men’s cross country team won their 4th straight NorCal title, and 7 of the last 11. Once again the Beavers were led by Will Reyes who crushed the course record covering the 3.95 miles of hilly terrain in a blazing 19:53. He was closely followed again by Luis Luna in 20:00.

8th straight conference title for the men's team. American River College Beavers men's cross country team wins the Big 8 Conference championship with 18 points. William Reyes outlasts Luis Luna for the individual title over 3.90 miles 19:03 to 19:09.

Sophomore Will Reyes had an impressive start to his sophomore season in the month of September, winning all three races in which he competed. On September 7th, he kicked the year off with a win at the Fresno Invitational, defeating 183 runners at Woodward Park, the course of the CCCAA State Championships.

Running without the top two runners on the team, the Beavers continued their winning ways capturing the title at this year’s edition of the Beaver Invitational. The ARC men won with 46 points, followed closely by an up and coming College of Sequoias team who scores 55.

The ARC men have been ranked #1 in California for 101 consecutive weeks!!! Since the start of the 2011 season, the Beavers have compiled a record of 283-3 (98.9%) against community colleges, and 58-19 (75.3%) against 4-year colleges.

Golden Gate Park 4.04 miles The American River College men’s cross country team continued their undefeated season against community colleges at the Lou Vasquez Invitational in Golden Gate Park.

The American River College men’s cross country team competed Friday at the SoCal Preview meet in Santa Clarita. The Beavers split their team into a “Top 6” team that competed in the Invitational race, and the rest of the team that competed in the “Overflow” race. Both teams easily won their respective race.

After starting the season out last week on an 8k (5 miles) course, the Beavers were ready to take on the shorter 4-mile distance. Running on the course where the State Championships will be contested in late November, the ARC men wanted to prove they are picking up right where they left off in 2012, winning their 2nd consecutive State title.

The American River College men started out on their title defense of their 2012 State Championship in fine fashion, winning the Non-DI portion of the University of San Francisco Invitational.
