American River College sophomores Matt Clarke (Bella Vista) and Justin Hanlin (Whitney) signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) on Thursday during signing week, head baseball coach Doug Jumelet announced.

Former Beaver Matt Gunter drafted by the Blue Jays
Matt Gunter, who pitched for American River College in 2014 &15 was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 33rd round of the Major League Baseball first year player draft.

Half of the 2017 Beavers Baseball team posts 3.0 GPA
13 of the 26 members of the 2017 American River College baseball team posted a GPA of 3.0 or better in the Spring semester, according to Head Coach Doug Jumelet.

Micah Gunter commits to Simpson University
Sophomore RHP Micah Gunter announced that he will continue his education and baseball career at Simpson University in Redding, CA next fall. Gunter came to A.R.C. after having a stellar career at Valley Christian Academy in Roseville where he was named a small-school All-State player as a shortstop after his senior year in 2015.

The Beavers took the first game 7-3 thanks to a solid starting performance from sophomore RHP Micah Gunter (Valley Christian), who went 6 innings and struck out 5.

American River College got off to a fast start, scoring in the bottom of the first and three times in the second inning to build a 4-0 lead, then scored late to defeat Napa Valley College 10-2 at Beaver Field on Tuesday.

For the second year in a row the weather is not cooperating and the annual Alumni BP and Blue vs. White Intrasquad game will be switched to just having the BBQ at noon in the lobby of Hutchison Gym.
